The café that started Madrid's specialty revolution. Toma opened in Malasaña in 2012 and hasn't looked back — it's tiny, intensely focused, and utterly committed to its craft. The Chemex and V60 are treated with the same care as a Michelin kitchen. Note: limited seating and no WiFi — come here to think, not to Slack. The best single-origin filter in the capital.

Toma changed how I think about filter coffee. Not a place for laptop work — but the Chemex here is what a Monday morning should begin with, before you head somewhere with WiFi.
A small-but-legendary spot in Malasaña. Go for the single-origin, respect the no-laptop policy, and appreciate that some coffee is worth having without a screen in front of you.
