The Australian import that quietly changed Barcelona's café culture. Federal's El Born outpost is warm and well-lit, with shared tables, a menu built around all-day brunch, and filter coffee that would hold its own in Melbourne or Sydney. Excellent WiFi, power sockets at every bench seat, and a crowd of local freelancers who treat it like a second office.

Federal is my Barcelona anchor. The bench seats have power, the WiFi is fast, and the flat white is genuinely excellent. Found it on my first day in the city and haven't stopped returning.
Great place to work through the morning. Fills up around brunch time but there's always room. Outdoor terrace is a bonus when the weather cooperates.
