Run by 2009 World Barista Champion Gwilym Davies, Prufrock is a Clerkenwell institution. The stripped-back industrial space — exposed brick, concrete counter, arched windows — is as much about craft as atmosphere. One of the best places in London to work quietly with excellent coffee.

Gwilym's place is the real deal. I come every Tuesday — arrived at 8am, left at 5pm, drank three exceptional coffees, finished a proposal. Quiet, plugged in, perfect.
The V60 filter here changed how I think about coffee. Great desk space near the window, solid WiFi password on the board, no one rushes you.
Gets busy from noon but mornings are quiet and focused. WiFi solid, plugs on every table. The espresso is genuinely transformative.
